JOB SUMMARY

We’re looking for a motivated small equipment apprentice who will be responsible for supporting daily warehouse and maintenance operations by ensuring efficient handling of materials, tools, and equipment. This role involves reviewing work orders, coordinating with the Supervisor, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring all materials and supplies are received, tracked, and distributed effectively.

Location: Clearway Equipment Office & Yard – 69 Freshway Dr, Concord, ON L4K 1R9.

Hours of Operation: 7:00 am to 5:00 pm (EST), Monday through Friday (On site)

Wage rate: $18 per hour


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review work orders and discuss work to be performed with the Supervisor,
  • Receive and track materials, hand tools, and other supplies,
  • Provide weekly report of materials requisitions and usage,
  • Receive and verify accuracy of incoming shipments, ensuring packing slips and other documentation accompanies deliveries,
  • Assist in management of equipment and determine estimates of repair cost,
  • Perform general maintenance of small tools (cleaning, fixing, testing, preparing),
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, other stock items,
  • Pull and distribute materials, tools, or other stock items in order to fill requests,
  • Load and unload specific equipment and supplies on trucks and trailers,
  • Operate loader, forklift and other equipment following Health & Safety guidelines
  • Maintain clean work environment and security of equipment in the warehouse area
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through computerized inventory system
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service on equipment, such as inspecting/testing engines and other mechanical components using test devices to diagnose and isolate faults,
  • Adjust, repair, or replace mechanical and electrical system parts/components using hand tools and equipment,
  • Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance,
  • Provide positive professional customer service as a first point of contact for the company with vendors and in support of our field teams,
  • Advise customers on work performed and general condition of equipment,
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Senior Management.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or mechanical training is an asset
  • 2–3 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, or equipment maintenance
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with experience in maintaining and repairing small tools and equipment
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and computerized tracking tools
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, packing slips, and technical documents
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to lift, load, and move materials and equipment safely
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset
  • Knowledge of workplace Health & Safety regulations and best practices
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver’s license (preferred)
