C&L Ward is seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Trades Instructor to train and develop team members in core exterior remodeling skills, including roofing, siding, decking, windows, and doors. This role is responsible for teaching proper installation techniques, safety practices, product knowledge, quality standards, and jobsite professionalism to new and existing team members.
The Trades Instructor will lead classroom and field-based training, evaluate skill development, provide coaching and feedback, and help ensure crews are prepared to complete work efficiently, safely, and to company standards. This position plays a key role in building trade expertise, improving consistency, and supporting the long-term growth of our installation teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train team members on installation best practices for roofing, siding, decking, windows, and doors
- Demonstrate proper tool use, safety procedures, and jobsite setup
- Reinforce company quality standards and customer-service expectations
- Evaluate trainee performance and provide practical coaching
- Assist with developing training materials, checklists, and hands-on exercises
- Support continuous improvement in workmanship, efficiency, and safety
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in exterior remodeling or construction, communicates clearly, enjoys teaching others, and takes pride in quality craftsmanship. Experience leading crews, mentoring installers, or training employees is preferred.
