Job Description
Field Material Sampler
Company:  THE MILLER GROUP
Job Location:  NEW LISKEARD, ONTARIO, CAN
Type of Contract:  Seasonal
Posting Start Date:  4/15/26
Job Description:

The Miller Group, a subsidiary of Colas Canada, is a Canadian leader in the construction and maintenance of transportation infrastructure since 1917. We provide exceptional customer service and operational support using our time-proven construction methods and innovative technologies, alongside the highest quality products and materials. We leverage our global network to foster positive relationships that make a lasting difference in the communities where we live and work. Whether it is making your commute more efficient, keeping our communities safe, or making remote areas more accessible, at Miller we are proud to Build Greatness in everything we do.

As a Field Material Sampler, you are part of the paving and road construction operation—working outdoors on active job sites to collect asphalt and aggregate samples during production and placement. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that requires working alongside paving crews, lifting heavy materials, operating field equipment, and managing sampling activities in a fast-paced construction environment.

Your day includes shoveling hot asphalt from the paver, transporting and splitting samples, coring asphalt from finished road surfaces, and coordinating sampling times with project teams. You will spend long hours outside, often in hot summer conditions, and may travel between or work out of town depending on project needs.

This role is field-based, not laboratory-based, and is best suited for someone who enjoys physical work, independence, and being part of an active construction crew rather than working in an indoor lab setting.
