Micro Surfacing Machine Operator

Operates and maintains a micro surfacing machine and related heavy equipment for road maintenance projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality application of materials. Supports both field operations during the construction season and shop-based maintenance activities during the off-season, in full compliance with safety and environmental guidelines.

• →Operate micro surfacing and related heavy equipment in accordance with safety standards and project requirements
• →Apply all safety procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• →Prepare work activities by reviewing project plans and transporting equipment to job sites
• →Set up traffic control and ensure safe access to work areas
• →Adjust and operate equipment to ensure proper material application
• →Perform work as directed by supervisors while maintaining quality standards
• →Conduct daily equipment inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance
• →Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to supervisors promptly

• Experience operating heavy equipment (paving, road construction, or similar preferred)
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance
• Valid driver’s license (Class 5 or higher preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions during the construction season
• Willingness to work seasonally in the field and in the shop during winter months (Leduc)
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
• Relevant certifications or authorizations to operate equipment are considered an asset
