Operates heavy equipment to move, load, and transport materials such as aggregates, soil, or other bulk products in support of manufacturing or construction operations. Ensures safe and efficient equipment use while maintaining worksite productivity and compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
~1 min read• Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams.
• Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies.
• Conduct equipment pre‑shift inspections, identify unsafe conditions, and promptly report hazards or equipment concerns.
• Operate heavy equipment, including, but not limited to, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, excavators, and other mobile equipment used in completion of construction projects and/or in support of production operations.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance including greasing, checking/adding fluids, visually inspecting components, and cleaning equipment.
• Drive company vehicles to worksites and company locations when authorized.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite.
• Assist with manual labor tasks such as cleanup, material handling, and jobsite organization.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid drivers’ license and ability to maintain a clean driving history required.
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment; front end loader experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of proper and safe heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Effective communication skills and professional conduct.
• Ability to work under deadlines and solve problems efficiently.
Requirements
~2 min read• Wears and maintains required PPE (personal protective equipment) to ensure safe performance of job responsibilities as required.
• Regularly uses hands to handle tools, equipment, and materials necessary for completing operational tasks safely and efficiently.
• Regularly communicate (talk and hear) to support safe coordination, instruction, and teamwork in the work environment.
• Regularly works from a seated position for extended periods to operate equipment and vehicles requiring continuous control.
• Regularly climbs on and off equipment and walks across uneven terrain to navigate field sites safely.
• Regularly works in changing environmental conditions (such as outdoor weather, dust, or airborne particles) due to the nature of operational work sites.
• Regularly works near fuels, oils, and other common workplace chemicals associated with operating or supporting equipment and machinery.
• Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds with or without assistance to handle materials, tools, equipment, or documents essential to the role.
• Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches, and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls to access work areas and complete required tasks.
• Frequently works in environments that may include loud noise, moving equipment, dust, or varying indoor/outdoor conditions depending on operational needs.
• Occasionally works at heights or near electrical hazards when tasks require elevated access or proximity to electrical components.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and overtime; overnight travel may be required.
