About the Role
~1 min readWe are seeking a highly skilled Data Center HVAC Technician to serve as the mechanical subject matter expert for critical cooling and refrigeration systems within a mission-critical data center environment. This role is responsible for the safe operation, preventive maintenance, corrective repair, modification, and installation of mechanical systems that protect uptime, equipment reliability, and environmental stability.
This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You will work across chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, in-row cooling systems, cooling towers, pumps, valves, compressors, and associated controls to ensure cooling systems operate within design parameters and support reliable 24x7 operations. You will also support maintenance execution, vendor coordination, incident response, documentation, and system readiness while helping maintain high standards for safety, compliance, and operational discipline.
Requirements

- Leads by example in safety, technical discipline, and adherence to standards
- Brings calm, practical troubleshooting during mechanical events and equipment failures
- Maintains a high bar for workmanship, system care, and documentation quality
- Works well with Infrastructure leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams while staying clearly within mechanical scope
- Cooling and refrigeration systems operate safely, reliably, and within defined performance parameters
- Preventive maintenance is executed consistently, and developing issues are identified before they become outages
- Mechanical failures are diagnosed accurately and repaired with lasting solutions
- Vendor work is well-controlled, technically sound, and aligned with site standards
- Documentation is accurate, timely, and useful for maintenance planning, audits, and operational decision-making
- Mechanical spaces and work areas remain organized, safe, and ready to support critical operations
Requirements
~1 min read- HVAC certification, refrigeration certification, or equivalent trade qualification required
- 5+ years of experience working with HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical systems in mission-critical, industrial, or similar environments
- Strong knowledge of chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, pumps, valves, cooling towers, compressors, and associated controls
- Experience with preventive maintenance, corrective repair, and mechanical troubleshooting
- Familiarity with refrigerant handling requirements, environmental regulations, and mechanical safety standards
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Experience supporting critical operations, maintenance execution, and incident response
