Our Story 

Commissionaires BC is a Canadian, not-for-profit security/enforcement organization that has been in business since 1927. Our mandate is to give back to those who served and continue to serve in our communities and country. 

Commissionaires provides security services for over 200 sites and are located in over 110 communities across the province. Our client base runs from the Federal Government to local municipalities, airports, industrial sectors, and commercial/residential buildings.  

Our guards are not only behind the scenes providing security and access control, but front and centre providing valued customer service to the public.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Operations, the Operations Centre Coordinator, will be responsible for providing scheduling and customer service to our Security Officers and to our valued clients across British Columbia. The position works closely with the Operations and Human Resources team to ensure scheduling requests are met.

We are looking for a casual, on-call coordinator to provide coverage support for our team. As we operate 24/7, this role involves a variety of shift times and days, including weekdays, weekends, daytime, afternoon, and overnight shifts. Availability from throughout the week, including days and afternoons, is essential.

Payrate: $24.50/hr

Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Responding to and monitoring staffing/service requests from internal and external clients
  • Answering calls from employees and members of the public and assisting with their queries
  • Selecting appropriate employees to fill staffing service requests
  • Providing a clear and accurate description of work assignments to employees
  • Shift scheduling using in-house software programs
  • Ensuring the safety of all staff working alone by effectively monitoring our Lone Work Program system
  • Maintaining a detailed log after the end of each shift
  • Producing ad hoc reports as required by various departments
  • Conducting follow-up reviews with clients to ensure client satisfaction

Your Must-Haves

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Clear criminal record with ability to obtain a reliability security clearance
  • Have resided in Canada for a minimum of 5 years (due to above security clearance eligibility)
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Able to work under pressure 

Your Nice-To-Haves: 

  • Hold OFA 1 or OFA 2  
  • BC Security Licence
