Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Attend to the commercial maintenance needs at Community Action House properties and partner site locations.

Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to identify and address maintenance needs.

Complete minor repairs and maintenance including but not limited to: repairing wall damage, painting, replacing ceiling tiles, floor maintenance.

Perform regular maintenance of the facilities, including but not limited to: cleaning internal spaces, lawn maintenance, snow removal and salting.

Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies (fuel, salt, paint) and equipment (tools and equipment, requesting reorder as necessary).

Coordinate with external contractors for maintenance and repair work, as needed.

Lead volunteers assisting with facilities projects as necessary.

When needed as additional support, perform daily cleaning of offices, kitchen, break rooms, restrooms and common areas of facilities.

Assist with setup and teardown of furniture and equipment for meetings, events, and as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Informal Supervisor: Does not have formal people leading (supervisory) responsibilities. May influence others based on their expertise or relationships; lead projects with other teammates; and/or provide guidance or mentoring to other colleagues. 

2+ years of relevant experience required 

No supervisory experience required

Some college required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.; or in place of college, equivalent years of experience

Valid driver’s license in good standing is required

2+ years of directly related professional experience with a higher level of expertise or specialization in commercial facility cleaning and maintenance to support or lead projects or operations in this area. 

Serve as subject matter experts, providing guidance, training, and support to staff, volunteers, or external stakeholders such as vendors, in their area of expertise.

Basic knowledge of and experience with cleaning commercial facilities.

Proactive, organized, and strong in follow-up and task execution.

Ability to follow a consistent, reliable, and predictable schedule.
