About the Role
~1 min readWe are seeking a Supply Chain Intern to support fast-paced battery development and pilot-scale planning. This role will work across R&D, procurement, and manufacturing to help ensure critical materials and components are tracked, organized, and available to support aggressive development timelines. This is a hands-on role for someone who is highly organized, analytical, and excited to learn how supply chains operate in a battery development environment.
Responsibilities

Support supplier research for battery materials and components, including gathering information on capabilities, lead times, and pricing.

Assist with procurement of prototype and pilot-scale materials by tracking orders, deliveries, and shortages.

Help maintain technical specifications and supplier documentation in coordination with engineering.

Track supplier lead times, risks, and dependencies, and help escalate issues that may impact development schedules.

Support pilot-scale production planning by helping monitor material readiness and availability.

Assist with development-stage inventory management, including lot tracking, shelf-life tracking, and material organization.

Build and maintain supply chain data in spreadsheets or similar tools, including supplier status, lead times, and qualification progress.

Coordinate with R&D, manufacturing, and external suppliers to keep material needs and timelines aligned.
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
Strong interest in supply chain, manufacturing, and battery technology.
Ability to work with technical information and maintain organized records.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Excel or similar tools.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in a lab, manufacturing, research, or startup environment is a plus.
Material orders, supplier information, and inventory data are tracked accurately and kept up to date.
Supply risks and schedule issues surfaced early to the team.
Cross-functional teams have better visibility into material readiness for development and pilot builds.
The intern contributes to a more organized and scalable process from lab development through pilot operations.
This position is expected to be onsite in our San Jose, CA office Monday through Friday.

Base salary is determined based on many factors such as: market rate, experience, interview performance, and geographic location.
