Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM)
Position Overview
CMI is seeking a Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM) to oversee quality control activities on a federal construction project located at West Point, New York. The CQCM is responsible for ensuring all work complies with contract requirements, project specifications, and applicable quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee project quality control activities in accordance with contract requirements and specifications.
- Administer the USACE Three-Phase Quality Control System.
- Conduct inspections, quality control meetings, and documentation reviews to ensure compliance.
- Manage submittals, testing reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, testing agencies, and government representatives.
- Monitor materials and workmanship to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain quality records and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- S. Citizen (required for federal project requirements).
- Minimum of 5 years of construction quality control experience on projects of similar size and complexity.
- Current USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) certification required.
- Working knowledge of the USACE Three-Phase Quality Control System.
- Experience with USACE Resident Management System (RMS) preferred.
- Experience managing construction submittals and quality documentation.
- Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 requirements and construction safety compliance.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- ACI certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work on active construction sites and traverse uneven terrain in various weather conditions.
- Ability to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and inspect work areas as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work the following schedule:
- During summer break, fall break, winter break, and other periods when cadets are not on site:
- 12-hour shifts
- 6 days per week
- When cadets are present:
- Work hours will return to a more standard schedule.
- Travelers will be considered
