The Outbound Marketing Manager is responsible for owning and executing the outbound motion from the ground up, mostly through Outreach.io. This role runs end-to-end processes, thinks critically, diagnoses issues, all while being aligned with sales. The role will ensure that outbound is a trusted, sales-adopted engine for pipeline creation.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →End-to-end outbound strategy: sequence design, messaging, targeting, and cadence across all GTM motions (new logo, cross-sell, competitive displacement, etc)
- →Sales adoption and trust: build the direct relationship with SDR and RSM/AE leadership needed to ensure sequences are actually used; that they’re regularly updated and used for the right audiences; treat sales feedback as a design input
- →Tooling ownership: manage the Outreach platform and associated contractor resources, ensuring sequences are technically sound, are pointed at the right audiences and easy for reps to execute
- →Sales and marketing alignment process: build a formal intake and feedback loop so sequences are co-designed with sales before launch, not handed off after the fact
- →Performance and iteration: track sequence performance (open, reply, engagement, meeting-booked rates) and continuously refine based on what's actually working in the field
- →Cross-functional partnership: work closely with PMM on messaging accuracy and with DGMs on campaign timing so outbound supports, not duplicates, broader demand programs, and sales on execution and measurement
- →Playbook development: build complete, usable playbooks by role and motion, replacing the empty shells that exist today
- Proven track record getting sales teams to adopt and execute marketing-built sequences
- Strong relationship-building instincts with sales leadership; comfortable being in the room with SDR managers and AEs regularly
- Experience diagnosing and fixing broken sales-marketing handoffs, not just building net-new programs
- Sharp messaging instincts
- Data-driven: comfortable analyzing sequence performance and making the case for what to kill, keep, or change
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent business experience
- 4+ years in outbound or sales development marketing, with direct experience managing tools like Outreach, Salesloft, or similar
- B2B SaaS or MSP/channel experience a strong plus
- Onsite/Hybrid/Remote depending on location
- 10-20% travel may be required
