At Constant Contact, we are seriously awesome people who take ownership and make an impact by operating with the mindset, integrity and courage of a small business owner. There’s something so profoundly rewarding about knowing that your work is empowering people everywhere to pursue their dreams.  Here, we all play an integral part in helping business owners, entrepreneurs, non-profits and individuals to succeed by giving them all the help and tools they need to grow online. We’re energized by new challenges and new possibilities-and we’re just getting started!

About the Role

~1 min read

Constant Contact has helped millions of small businesses grow for over 30 years. We're now investing heavily in the next chapter, and CTCT for Agents is the boldest part of it: deliverability-as-a-service for the agentic era. It gives any AI agent, including Claude, ChatGPT, custom builds, and white-label platforms, the execution rails to do real marketing work, starting with email that actually lands. This role leads product for that platform: the API, the MCP server, and the developer experience around them.

You'll be the principal product leader on a small, high-trust team building Constant Contact's first developer-facing product. Executive sponsorship is real, the ambition is high, and the competitive window is measured in months, not years. You'll set the bar for what agent-native infrastructure looks like, including what the platform does, what it doesn't, and how developers learn to trust it.

Responsibilities

~2 min read
  • Own the developer experience end-to-end. API surface, MCP server, docs, onboarding, first-send flow. Time from API key to first delivered email is the product. Define it, ship it, instrument it, iterate.
  • Make the platform feel trustworthy. Developers won't route production sending through infrastructure that surprises them. You'll define how CTCT for Agents earns trust: transparent deliverability telemetry, predictable rate limits, honest error messages, compliance that protects customers without ambushing them.
  • Pick the right leading indicators. Time-to-first-send, activation to production volume, delivered-message growth, developer retention, docs-driven self-serve conversion. Revenue is the lagging story — these are the levers. You'll commit to numbers and defend them.
  • Own the roadmap sequencing. Email is live; SMS, CLI, Agent Skills, physical mail, social, and the channel router are coming. Speed of the omnichannel roadmap is what protects our competitive position. You'll decide what ships next and why.
  • Be opinionated about agent-native design. Decide what belongs in the API, what belongs in the MCP toolset, and what belongs in Skills. Own the bar for how agents consume the platform — structured inputs, structured outputs, telemetry surfaced back into agent context. Have a strong point of view on where the agentic thesis is real and where it's hype.
  • Get out of the building. Talk to developers and agencies weekly. Read the dev-rel forums where we'll be compared to Resend and SendGrid. Sit in support and Discord threads. Bring the builder's voice into every roadmap conversation, loudly.
  • Communicate up and across. Pitch the roadmap to executives, jam with engineering on API design, defend tradeoffs on packaging, and translate developer friction into requirements engineers can actually act on.
  • 8+ years in product, with at least one specific example of a 0-to-1 product you took from concept to scale. Developer-facing or API/platform product experience required; infrastructure or messaging experience strongly preferred.
  • Genuinely AI-fluent. You've shipped for the agentic ecosystem or built with it. You understand MCP, tool calling, agent architectures, and evals well enough to argue with engineers about tradeoffs, not just hand them a PRD.
  • You know B2D. You understand that developers choose tools by reading docs, not attending demos. You treat documentation, onboarding, and error messages as product surface, not collateral.
  • Sharp on developer experience. You have strong opinions on API design, what makes a great quickstart, when to add an abstraction and when it's tax, and the difference between DX that delights and DX that unsettles.
  • Metrics-driven without being metric-blind. You build clear input → output → outcome pyramids and know which qualitative signals dashboards miss — like what the tone of a GitHub issue tells you.
  • Clear-eyed about the competition. We're late to developer email APIs and plausibly first to MCP-native marketing infrastructure. You know how to win a window that's real but small, and you respect Resend's DX rather than dismissing it.
  • Bias toward action. You'd rather ship a rough version this week and learn than ship a polished version next quarter and guess.
  • Direct communicator. You give feedback kindly and clearly. You disagree in the room, commit when the call is made, and don't relitigate later.

Nice to Have

~1 min read
  • Background in email deliverability, messaging infrastructure, or CPaaS (SendGrid, Twilio, Postmark, Mailgun, Resend, or similar).
  • Experience with usage-based pricing and consumption revenue models.
  • Experience serving agencies or whitelabel/multi-tenant products.
  • Dev-rel instincts: you've written docs, given talks, or built community around a technical product.
  • A point of view on how AI agents are reshaping SaaS distribution — and what infrastructure wins when they do.
