Landscaper / Grounds Person

Position Summary:  Maintain landscaping around the grounds, clubhouse and other club facilities,

                                   including parking lots.

Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain CBC and Horizons by sweeping and raking all stairways & paths and blow roads.
2. Trash collection at CBC including all public areas, cottages and rooms.
3. Cut grass with hand mower, riding mower & weed trimmer at CBC and Horizons. Grounds Manager or Mechanic will assist with setting the height for the cut. 
4. Assist with the pruning of trees, palms and plants with hand pruners, loppers, handsaw, chainsaw and pole saw, with guidance from Grounds Manager.  
5. Use of safety harness to trim plants & trees in all areas as indicated by the Grounds Manager.
6. Assist with watering as needed.
7. Mow grass on Horizons golf course – areas visible to guest cottages.
8. Assist Club Management team with projects and special events, as needed.
9. Assist with annual verdict of greens at CBC.
10. Bi-annual cut back of trees, palms and plants on South Shore Road at CBC & Horizons.
11. Attends all daily and staff meetings.

Skills/Knowledge:

• Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
• Team player who is reliable, responsible, flexible, punctual and willing to work weekends and holidays.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years of relevant experience as a landscaper and grounds person in a luxury hotel

Licenses and Special Requirements:

• Clean driving record

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
• Occasionally exposed to extreme cold or heat and wet/humid conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling. Occasional exposure to high, precarious places.
• Will need to use some protective equipment, such as a respirator, gloves, earplugs, eye guards/visors, boots and hat.
