About the role
The role sits within the GeoConsultancy Services team which is a multi-disciplinary consultancy providing expertise in Geoenvironmental Investigations and Construction Materials, sampling & testing. These include geotechnical investigations, design and advice; metalliferous mining investigations and remediation; contaminated land investigations and environmental monitoring, including air and water quality, landfill sites and ground-borne gas investigations.
The role would involve provision of accurate and professional surveying, sampling & testing services in accordance with existing policies & standards; and industry practice;
Projects you’ll work on
We work collaboratively with the Local Authority, CORSERV group of companies and external customers to deliver services across Cornwall & the South West in line with our 4-year Business Plan. Working alongside other engineers and technicians you will be assisting them with project management tasks, conducting and reporting geoenvironmental desk studies. A fundamental part of the role will be to successfully organise & manage surveying, sampling & testing programmes and assist with geotechnical investigations. This will involve mainly fieldwork, including working with the consultancy’s windowless sampling and rotary percussive drilling rigs; collecting and assimilating data; scheduling testing programmes and the preparation of technical reports. You will also be expected to undertake hand excavations and highway reinstatements following Ground Investigation activities.

About you
We are looking for you to bring:
- Strong focus on health and safety
- Proven experience of geoenvironmental and geotechnical investigation, sampling and testing
- Good report writing and communication skills
- Good analytical skills
- Good IT skills
- UK Driving License (covering manual vehicles)
Our offer to you
Salary: up to £29,243 depending on experience
Working Hours: 37hrs per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Base: This role is office and site based with potential to work from home occasionally.
