About the Role

The Career Success Coach (CSC) will play a key role in ensuring the success of learners in Correlation One’s world-class data training and jobs programs. The CSC will work alongside a team of Teaching Assistants and Correlation One program operations staff to provide professional development coaching support to a cohort of learners. Your contract begins one week prior to the program start date and concludes on the program end date.

Responsibilities

The CSC will have 4 main focus areas detailed below:

  • Conduct 1:1 coaching meetings [Up to 6hr / wk]
    • Offer 4-6 hours of office hours availability per week. This is equivalent to up to 12 30-minute (or less) meetings per week, with a max of 8 hours weekly. Your office hour availability is largely determined by you, with the expectation that you are working with learners to find mutually available times as-needed
  • Share regular updates with PD team [1hr / wk]
    • Weekly asynchronous updates serve as an opportunity for CSCs to celebrate wins, discuss specific learners for support and guidance, and share relevant announcements and updates.
    • Bi-weekly pod meetings [45min] serve as a time for more in-depth check-in, updates on current program priorities, and CSC collaboration
  • Learner engagement, interaction tracking, and job search progress [Up to 2hr / wk]
    • Track notes from 1:1 coaching meetings related to learner job search progress, ~5 minutes / meeting
    • Monthly, update the job search status for every learner in your cohort, ~ 1 hour / month
    • Reply to all Slack and email communication within 24 hours, ~ 1 hour / week
  • Providing resume and LinkedIn profile feedback [Up to 2.5hr / wk]
    • Provide feedback via standardized rubrics on 3 exercise throughout program [10min / learner / exercise]
      • Exercise 2 - Resume draft
      • Exercise 3 - LinkedIn profile
      • Exercise 4 - Resume final
  • Minimum 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of professional experience, ideally in career development or coaching, professional counseling, or related program management focused on job seekers
  • Outstanding, executive-ready written and verbal communication skills in English
  •  Experience developing trusting relationships and effective guidance to adult learners and/or job seekers
  • Experience delivering career coaching in an entirely remote format
  • An affinity for communicating with others in an empathetic and considerate manner
  • Strong work ethic, ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision
  • Proactive problem-solver, high attention to detail, and a quick learner
  • High level of technical proficiency and comfortable adapting to new tools and technologies with ease
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and Slack
  • Strong local job-market knowledge in cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide. 
  • Understanding of Australia’s vocational pathways (TAFE/VET), 
  • Familiarity with local hiring norms and job search channels (Seek, LinkedIn, typical resume expectations) and skills-based hiring trends in tech
  • Experience in the following areas a plus: university career services, TAFE/workforce programs, tech bootcamps, or technical recruiting,
