Cortica is looking for a Nurse Practitioner I to join its growing team!
In this role, you will conduct thorough patient intakes, screenings, and assessments, considering the unique needs of each patient and their family. You will triage referrals for acute needs and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care. By utilizing the nursing process, scientific reasoning, and critical problem-solving skills, you will practice within the State Board of Nursing scope, placing orders and screening tests in accordance with approved protocols and guidelines. Your responsibilities will also include providing accurate clinical documentation using the EMR system, effectively communicating with patients, families, and clinical teams, and participating in annual performance reviews. Additionally, you will welcome new families via telehealth visits, share the overall care model, and help families access appropriate developmental and behavioral services while gathering information about neurodevelopmental challenges and conducting diagnostic assessments and screenings to facilitate further referrals for therapy and medical services.

What will you do?
- Be the first to welcome new families into our model with a telehealth visit.
- Share the overall model that we use and help families access developmental and behavioral services that are right for their child.
- Gather information about neurodevelopmental challenges, conducting needed telehealth-based diagnostic assessments and screenings to kick off cascade for downstream therapy and medical service referrals including DT, ABA, Counseling, Parent Education.
- Complete thorough patient intakes, screenings, and assessments that incorporate the unique characteristics and needs of each patient and family member into the plan of care.
- Triage referrals for acute needs to other members of the Cortica team.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team members to coordinate compendium of care for each patient.
- Utilize the nursing process, scientific reasoning and critical problem solving to practice within the scope of responsibilities as defined by the State Board of Nursing including placing orders and screening tests in in accordance with approved protocol(s) and guidelines.
- Provide appropriate clinical documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for all patient encounters (Athena).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical teams.
- Participate in annual performance reviews, as needed.
We’d love to hear from you if:
- You are knowledgeable regarding diagnoses and therapies for the following conditions: Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Speech and Language delay, Sensory Processing Disorder, Headaches, Insomnia, Epilepsy (seizure action plan, safety), sensory processing disorder and other neurodevelopmental diagnosis.
- You have a minimum of 12 months in pediatric practice in an outpatient setting (pediatric or family nurse practitioner), preferably behavioral neurology and/or Neurodevelopmental Medicine (NDM) and pediatric behavior disorders, including autism.
- You are proficient in ADIR/ADOS diagnostic evaluation (Gold standard).
- You have a telemedicine skillset including ability to leverage multiple forms of technology simultaneously in efforts to document while connecting with patients. (EMR, virtual wait rooms).
- You hold a current and unrestricted license and/or certification that is required to practice within your clinical domain and obtain cross-state licensure in new states as indicated by the current business needs.
- You have a knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

The base pay range for this opening is $116,977 to $146,222. According to your skill level, relevant experience, education level, and location, you will receive compensation that fits appropriately within the range.
