DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations is looking to hire new Structural Marshaling Technicians to work from our Port of Alexandria Manufacturing Facility. The Structural Marshaling Technician is responsible for handling completed products (Structures and PFB) from the end of production through shipment. They work as part of a team to safely load, unload, and store completed products either for shipment or storage in the yard. The Team Member follows safety protocols, maintains efficiency in daily tasks, and ensures product quality while assisting in the overall operations of the team.

  • Helps to manage completed products (Structures and PFB) from the end of production through shipment. Once production is completed it is handed off to this team to either ship out or move to the yard to store.
  • Works with team to identify continuous improvement opportunities. 
  • Ensures the Structural Marshaling Team is safe in everything they do. 
  • Is responsible for ensuring that lay down yard cleanliness is top priority.
  • Helps in organizing and ordering cranes for loading and unloading. Maximize the use of Crane when it is on site.
  • Helps with the complete product bin location map (PSS Hard Stand Map).
  • Ensuring updating the map when changes are made.
  • Work closely with shipping teams to coordinate efficient shipment of products. Organization of when structure is scheduled to leave the facility.
  • During the slow time, ensure the team assists the Logistics Team where needed.
  • Helps to ensure the Structural Marshaling Team is safe in everything they do. Ensure the team is trained on the safest, most efficient process of Rigging structures: Using Straps, shackles, spreader bars etc; Working at elevated heights; Operating Forklifts to safely load and unload of product; Use of basic hand tools, saws, drills, etc. 
  • Minimum of 1 year of Structural Marshaling experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and customer service skills preferred
