Responsibilities

  • Remove sharp edges, burrs, and excess material from fabricated parts using grinders, sanders, and hand tools to ensure components are safe and production-ready.
  • Clean, smooth, and prepare metal components for welding, coating, or assembly.
  • Work alongside CNC operators to learn proper deburring techniques, tool usage, and safety standards.
  • Conduct visual and tactile inspections to verify parts meet company quality standards.
  • Properly use and maintain grinders, sanding tools, and other equipment; ensure a clean and organized workspace.
  • Assist with general shop tasks, including material handling and basic support for CNC operations.
  • Track completed work and report defects or inconsistencies to supervisors.

Requirements

  • Education and Certifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Trade school training or hands-on shop experience preferred
  • Required Skills & Competencies:
    • Basic mechanical aptitude
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to use hand and power tools (or willingness to learn)
    • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs
    • Ability to stand for extended periods
    • Comfortable working in a shop environment (noise, dust, and varying temperatures)
  • Additional Requirements
    • Safety Focus: Commitment to safety procedures and proper PPE usage
    • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
    • Adaptability: Willingness to follow direction and assist in other areas
    • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve part defects or finishing issues
