As Cro Metrics continues to scale its integrated growth marketing services, the Design team is expanding to meet rising demand across CRO experimentation, website design and development, lifecycle marketing, and paid media. This is part of a strategic hiring plan to bring on reliable, high-quality design talent that can operate with consistency and speed across our full service offering and strengthen our creative, strategic, and technical design capabilities.
We're hiring designers at two levels:
- Production & Execution — an execution-focused role for designers who translate hypotheses and creative direction into polished, pixel-perfect deliverables, on time and on budget. This designer executes across our full range of service lines — CRO experimentation, website design, lifecycle marketing, and paid media. The focus is consistent, high-quality output at pace.
- Senior, Strategic & Client-Facing — a strategic and technical role for designers who own both the thinking and the execution: shaping UX strategy and design systems, presenting to clients, and producing high-fidelity work across our service lines.
About the Role
~2 min read- Produce high-fidelity mockups and design assets for A/B tests, high-conversion pages, funnels, email/SMS campaigns, landing pages, and paid media creative across multiple client accounts.
- Execute within established design systems and brand guidelines, maintaining visual consistency and integrity across every deliverable.
- Interpret written briefs, hypotheses, and requirements to independently develop polished, production-ready designs in Figma — often working from a description of what's needed rather than pre-made wireframes.
- Support rapid experimentation cycles by delivering production-ready variations quickly and iterating based on results.
- Ground design decisions in data — experiment results, analytics, and conversion principles — rather than aesthetic preference alone.
- Be able to explain the reasoning behind your design choices — provide a clear rationale for how a deliverable addresses the brief, hypothesis, or brand requirements.
- Prepare and organize design files for clean developer handoff, ensuring specs, assets, and annotations are clear and complete.
- Structure design files with AI compatibility in mind — building clean, well-organized files that downstream AI workflows (e.g., Figma → Claude) can interpret and act on.
- Manage your workload across multiple concurrent projects, communicating proactively about capacity, timelines, and blockers.
- Leverage AI tools throughout your workflow to improve both the speed and the quality of your output — ideation, asset generation, iteration, and prototyping.
- Collaborate with program managers, strategists and engineers to ensure alignment on intent, feasibility, and brand standards.
- Adapt quickly to new client brands and ways of working — learning their visual language, voice, and constraints, and working directly within their Figma instance and established processes when required — to produce on-brand work from the start.
- Contribute to and maintain component libraries and reusable templates that improve team efficiency over time.
- Lead concepting and design execution for complex client engagements — website redesigns, customer flow improvements, paid media ads and landing pages, and multi-channel experiences — from early-stage concepts through production-ready deliverables.
- Contribute to design strategy: bring a strong UX perspective to planning conversations, identify opportunities, and recommend approaches (while strategists own hypothesis development and journey mapping).
- Own client-facing design presentations — articulate design rationale, walk stakeholders through concepts, and build trust as a strategic design partner.
- Architect and evolve design systems for clients and internal use — component libraries, tokens, patterns, and documentation that scale across projects.
- Bridge design and engineering — design ambitious-but-buildable solutions with an understanding of front-end constraints (HTML/CSS/JS), responsive behavior, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Conduct customer journey analysis, accessibility and UX/UI audits against WCAG, UX best practices, and conversion principles, delivering actionable findings and recommendations.
- Help mature Cro Metrics' AI design practice — explore, evaluate, and integrate AI-powered tools (generative design, AI-assisted prototyping, prompt-to-design, asset generation) and bring leading-edge techniques back to the team.
- Evaluate and recommend design tooling and processes that improve team efficiency, consistency, and output quality.
- Proactively surface experiment ideas, UX opportunities, and service innovations.
- Experience in UI/UX design, digital production design, or a similar role (2–4 years for the Production level; see below for Senior).
- Strong Figma proficiency — fast, organized, clean, well-structured files with proper components, auto-layout, and naming conventions.
- A portfolio demonstrating production-quality work across web, email, and paid media — craft, consistency, and range.
- Comfort working within existing brand systems and constraints rather than always designing from scratch.
- Experience with conversion-focused design — landing pages, user flows, experiment variations, or similar.
- Comfort letting data guide design choices — you understand that at an experiment-led agency, results and evidence inform the work.
- Ability to manage volume across multiple concurrent deliverables, clients, and channels without quality dipping.
- Strong attention to detail — pixel-perfect output, consistent spacing, correct typography, adherence to specs and design systems.
- Clear communication — you ask thoughtful questions, flag issues early, and keep stakeholders informed.
- Receptive to feedback — you take critique well, and actively seek it out to sharpen your work and close the loop with strategists, clients, and peers.
- Self-directed and reliable — you manage your time well, meet deadlines, and don't need to be micromanaged.
- 5–8+ years in UX/UI design, product design, or a senior role blending strategic thinking with hands-on craft.
- A portfolio that shows how you think, not just what you make — research insights, strategic framing, multiple explorations, rationale, and outcomes.
- Proven experience leading design on complex, multi-stakeholder projects (website redesigns, product strategy, or multi-channel experience design).
- Design systems expertise — you've built, maintained, or significantly contributed to scalable design systems.
- Strong technical design fluency — front-end constraints, responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and productive working conversations with engineers.
- Client-facing confidence — present concepts, explain reasoning, handle feedback gracefully, and build trust with senior stakeholders.
- Experience with data-informed design — comfortable using analytics, experiment results, and user research to guide decisions.
- Advanced Figma — components, variables, auto-layout, prototyping, and design tokens.
- A clear point of view on where AI-powered design is headed, backed by integration into your own practice.
Requirements
~1 min readThis role requires active, demonstrated use of AI tools in your daily workflow — to support and accelerate your work (ideation, asset generation, iteration, prototyping), not to replace the craft, judgment, and quality that make a designer great. You'll be asked to show concrete AI-integrated workflows during the interview process. Candidates who cannot demonstrate practical AI tool use will not advance.
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Experience at a CRO, experimentation, or growth marketing agency.
- Familiarity designing for A/B testing and personalization platforms (Optimizely, VWO, Dynamic Yield, or similar).
- Experience designing email templates for ESPs (Klaviyo, Braze, Iterable, or similar).
- Exposure to paid media creative formats and platform specs (Meta, Google, LinkedIn, programmatic).
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and how designs translate to front-end development.
- Background in eCommerce, SaaS, or subscription-based product design.
- Contributions to design thought leadership — writing, speaking, or community involvement.
- You consistently deliver polished, on-brand, test-ready designs on time and with minimal revision cycles.
- Strategists and developers trust your output and view you as a reliable production partner.
- You manage a steady cadence of deliverables across multiple clients without quality dipping.
- Your files are clean, well-organized, and easy for developers to work from.
- You proactively flag issues, ask clarifying questions early, and communicate about capacity honestly.
- Over time, you contribute to templates and reusable assets that make the whole team faster.
At the senior level, success also looks like:
- You become a trusted design partner for strategists, engineers, and clients — relied on for both strategic thinking and high-quality execution.
- Complex projects move faster and produce better outcomes because of your UX strategy and design systems work.
- You measurably advance Cro Metrics' AI design capabilities — new tools adopted, new workflows established, or internal processes meaningfully improved.
- Clients view Cro Metrics' design work as a competitive differentiator, not just a service fulfillment function.
Important Note: Cro Metrics is a U.S.-based remote company and is not able to hire in CA, AK, WA, OR, HI, NY, or NJ, or outside of the United States.
