Catholic Charities Washtenaw Emergency Food Program has an immediate opening for a  part-time (approximately 18.75 hours a week) Coordinator. This position receives donations for the Food Bank and assists in running the food bank. This position provides assistance to a diverse population of food bank customers in a welcoming manner that respects the dignity of all those seeking assistance.

 

Responsibilities:

Primary duties include assessing inventory, placing orders, coordinating volunteers, stocking shelves, conducting intakes, assessing and assisting customers, identifying unmet needs and providing referrals to appropriate community resources. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to, attending all required trainings/meetings and monthly reporting.

 

Requirements:

Ideal candidate will have or be working toward a Bachelor’s degree in a human service related field. Requires scheduling flexibility. Experience conducting brief needs assessments and connecting individuals with community resources is desired and preferred.  Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and responsibly with limited supervision and be capable of handling multiple and sometimes conflicting demands. Exceptional computer skills are a must. Other requirements include but are not limited to, the ability to complete online data entry quickly and accurately, and perform tasks that may require bending, stooping, frequent lifting up to 30 pounds, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

 

Total compensation includes mileage reimbursement, comprehensive benefit plan with employer contribution, 401k retirement option, plus paid time off with paid holiday schedule that includes the week between Christmas and New Year’s.
