Department of Public Administration - Full Time Lecturer

The Department of Public Administration at California State University, San Bernardino invites applications for a Full Time Lecturer position to begin August 2026.

The Department of Public Administration seeks an energetic and innovative educator to join the team as a full time Lecturer beginning August 2026. Candidates must be qualified to teach NASPAA and AACSB accredited courses in both upper division undergraduate and Master’s level public administration. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching and public service practitioner experience.

Full Time Lecturers focus on teaching. The teaching load for a Full Time Lecturer begins at a 5/5 load, but may be reduced through other duties, including large class courses and service releases.

Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and community leaders within the Inland Empire region of CA.

A terminal degree in Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field is required by time of appointment.

• Evidence of exemplary teaching and leadership experience at program level is preferred.
• Professional leadership experience in public a public service field.
• Evidence of intellectual engagement through scholarly activity, publication, and professional consulting is valued.
• Interest and ability to engage strategically in support of department programmatic and community engagement goals.

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with CSUSB. The Department of Public Administration at CSUSB offers an undergraduate degree in Public Service, a concentration in Public Administration in the BA in Administration offered by the JHB College of Business and Public Administration, and a NASPAA Accredited MPA degree.
