PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In a state agency planned training program approved by the Commissioner of Administrative Services receives formal and/or on-the-job instruction and training designed to provide the necessary knowledge and skills to qualify for appointment to a designated professional administrative or technical classification.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
\r\n Receives formal and/or on-the-job instruction and training in introductory administrative, professional or technical work designed to develop knowledge and skills needed in order to qualify for appointment and advancement in a designated specialty;�\r\n Performs a wide variety of increasingly complex, diversified and difficult duties as competencies are acquired during course of training period and in accordance with approved time schedule;�\r\n May prepare reports on progress of training;�\r\n Performs related duties as required.\r\n\r\n
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Evidence of basic aptitudes, motivation, interest and ability sufficient to provide reasonable foundation for acquiring knowledges and skills required for a designated technical or professional classification.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Three (3) years of current employment as a state employee including one (1) year in work related to the target class.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
\r\n Experience managing competing priorities while meeting deadlines\r\n Experience with case management in Salesforce\r\n Experience communicating orally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders, including law enforcement\r\n Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and the use of virtual platforms for meetings\r\n Experience handling and maintaining confidential information\r\n Experience with conflict resolution\r\n\r\n
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
\r\n\r\n Incumbents in this class will be eligible for promotion without competitive examination upon completion of a specified period of training and satisfactory service. The length of the training plan may be one, two or three years depending on the experience and training requirements of the target class as follows:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n LENGTH OF TARGET CLASS \r\n EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING�����������������\r\n \r\n LENGTH OF TRAINING PERIOD\r\n \r\n \r\n Four (4) Years�\r\n One (1) Year�\r\n \r\n \r\n Five (5) Years�\r\n Two (2) Years�\r\n \r\n \r\n Six (6) Years�\r\n Three (3) Years�\r\n \r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n All appointments to this class shall be under terms of a training program and in accordance with a time schedule approved by the Commissioner of Administrative Services. All training plans must be approved by the Department of Administrative Services prior to appointment to this class.\r\n Persons having responsibility for supervising or observing the behavior of inmates or custodial clients will be required to possess a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certification by the time of permanent appointment.\r\n\r\n\r\n
