About the Role

  • A seasoned event maker with 5–7+ years’ experience bringing large-scale public, hallmark, civic or major outdoor events from bold ideas to memorable, high-quality delivery.
  • A confident multi-tasker who can steer several complex events at once, balancing competing priorities, tight timeframes, budgets and stakeholder expectations without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • A hands-on operational leader who understands what it takes to make events work on the ground, including logistics, site operations, crowd management, security, emergency planning, transport and event-day delivery.
  • A commercially aware procurement and contract manager who can engage the right suppliers, set clear expectations and deliver safe, compliant and successful event outcomes.
  • A financially disciplined planner who can manage large event budgets, make informed decisions and contribute to strong commercial outcomes.
  • A natural relationship builder who can connect and collaborate across government, commercial, community and cultural sectors to create shared momentum.
  • A skilled negotiator and influencer who can bring people with different priorities together, lead cross-functional teams and unlock outcomes in complex environments.
  • A structured project lead who can turn moving parts into clear plans, manage risks and resources, and deliver projects to agreed deadlines, standards and expectations.
  • A calm, proactive problem-solver who can work autonomously, make sound decisions under pressure and keep delivery moving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to travel between Botanic Gardens Greater Sydney sites and support events outside standard hours, including evenings and weekends when required.
