  • Advisory Group Engagement Officer (Environment Officer Class 8)
  • Ongoing full-time (35 hours per week) opportunity
  • Office location upon negotiation across NSW, hybrid working supported
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $115,817 to $130,667 + super

Our Water for the Environment team is currently seeking to appoint an Advisory Group Engagement officer to coordinate and support environmental water advisory group operations to facilitate inclusive representation and the coordinated integration of feedback and advice into environmental water planning and delivery.

This role works as part of a high functioning team supporting Advisory Group governance, engagement and operational processes. Acting as a central coordination point, you will manage end-to-end meeting processes including agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking, while supporting inclusive and well-informed discussions across community, cultural, scientific and government stakeholders. You will also maintain strong communication, support membership processes (including recruitment and induction), and ensure compliance with legislative, policy and record-keeping requirements.

 

The role functions with a degree of independence within the parameters of the agreed work plan, making decisions within its delegated authority. It is responsible for delivering assigned tasks and receives guidance from its supervisor or manager on priorities, complex matters, and any issues that require escalation for resolution.

You have experience supporting stakeholder engagement, committees or advisory groups, with strong organisational skills and an understanding of governance processes in a government or community setting. You are confident coordinating meetings, managing documentation and supporting clear, accountable advice, with an ability to work effectively across diverse stakeholders.

You are organised, proactive and able to work independently within established frameworks. With strong communication and interpersonal skills, you build trusted relationships, support inclusive discussions and maintain attention to detail while managing competing priorities.
