  • Permanent, full-time opportunity (35 hours per week)
  • Location: Wagga Wagga or flexible within NSW, subject to negotiation.
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $112,375 to $124,158 + super

 

The Water for the Environment Branch is seeking an Assistant Environmental Water Programs Officer to support the delivery of environmental water programs that protect and enhance some of NSW’s most important aquatic ecosystems.

 

Working as part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of environmental water programs that support healthy rivers, wetlands and floodplains across NSW. You will provide technical advice to inform water management decisions, support monitoring and evaluation activities, and help deliver projects that achieve meaningful ecological outcomes.

 

In this role, you will assist with the development and implementation of environmental water plans, strategies and projects, undertake research and analysis, and contribute to reporting on environmental outcomes against ecological objectives.

You’re an environmental professional who wants to make a meaningful contribution to protecting and restoring NSW’s rivers, wetlands and floodplain ecosystems. With an interest in conservation, water management or natural resource management, you bring strong analytical skills and the ability to turn environmental data and research into practical insights that support better decision-making.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, building trusted relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver positive environmental outcomes. Organised and proactive, you enjoy contributing to projects, solving problems and continuously expanding your knowledge.
