  • 2x Temporary (up to 30 June 2029) full-time opportunities (with the possibility for ongoing or further extension, dependent on future funding)
  • One role is located in Coffs Harbour, and the second role is located in Parramatta
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $97,256 to $108,166 p.a. + super

 

About the Role

The Conservation Programs, Heritage and Regulation Group is currently seeking to appoint two Assistant Threatened Species Officers to contribute to the delivery of regional threatened species programs by supporting conservation and biodiversity outcomes, stakeholder engagement and community participation initiatives aligned with government priorities and strategic objectives.

In this role, you will support collaboration with communities, stakeholders and partner organisations to assist in the implementation of threatened species recovery actions and conservation outcomes.

 

As an Assistant Threatened Species Officer, you will be a motivated individual with good interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to engage with community on biodiversity conservation projects, and experience in working with landholders to undertake activities focused on the conservation of threatened species. You will have good data management and analysis skills and a proven ability to integrate and analyse complex datasets to support threatened species programs.

 

Requirements

  • A degree in science or in a relevant natural resource discipline or equivalent experience
  • A valid Australian driver’s licence
