The Executive Director, Consumer Energy Investments is a senior executive and member of the Executive Team responsible for investing in consumer and distributed energy across NSW.  The role is initially responsible to deliver the Home Energy Saver loan program (HESLP), a $480m zero-interest loan program managed by the Energy Security Corporation to help households invest in energy saving technologies.  The HESLP forms part of the broader NSW Government Consumer Energy Strategy. The Executive Director, Consumer Energy Investments is also responsible for providing the strategic direction and operational leadership to deliver the HESLP and expand the organisations investments supporting CER.

 

 

To be successful in this position, you will be an experienced senior executive with a strong track record of leading and managing programs and investments in consumer and distributed energy within Australia.  You are a senior leader and will have the creditability and judgement to work with consumer finance companies and banks, installers, developers of distributed energy projects, industry bodies and government. 

Requirements

  • Proven ability to originate, structure and execute investments with consumer finance companies and banks to provide finance to NSW households to undertake energy upgrades
  • Lead the organisation and management of all HESLP partners, including origination, due diligence, structuring, negotiating and reaching agreement with partners
  • Recognised industry leader, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Lead the development of relationships with key stakeholders to build capacity and capability in NSW’s renewable and energy efficiency industries and with financial service providers to enable ESC to deliver against its legislative mandate, with a focus on CER
  • Represent ESC to the industry, financial service providers and other stakeholders, ensuring effective partnerships are established and that the NSW Government’s interests are strongly and effectively represented
  • Lead the strategic development, implementation and delivery of new CER investment programs, ensuring engagement, collaboration and support across NSW Government and diverse stakeholder interests
  • In collaboration with the CEO and other stakeholders, develop strategies, future investment programs and plans to accelerate rollout other consumer and distributed technologies and assets
  • Provide timely, accurate, and strategic advice to the Board, enabling informed decision-making and effective oversight of the ESC’s activities, with a focus on CER.
