About the Role
~1 min readNational Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a casual Information & Retail Assistants to work as part of the team and contribute towards the care, control and management of a National Parks office.
The casual Information & Retail Assistant you will fill in when staff are on leave or during busy periods such as school holidays.
We are seeking a customer-focused and enthusiastic person who will be the welcoming face of our site. In this role, you will deliver high-quality visitor experiences through professional customer service, bookings coordination, and retail operations.
You’ll be the first point of contact for visitors, helping them connect with our services, tours, and experiences while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the visitor centre.

You are a proactive and adaptable professional who has experience in a customer-focused environment. You enjoy engaging with people and delivering memorable experiences.

- Experience in retail, tourism, or hospitality environments
- Confidence using computer systems and booking platforms
- High attention to detail, particularly in cash handling and administrative tasks

Requirements

A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is an essential requirement for this role. The role has beenidentified as requiring a check in keeping with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.

Understanding of and a commitment to the aims of the National Parks & Wildlife Service, including asound appreciation of natural and cultural heritage conservation issues.

Experience in cash handling procedures, stock control and ordering.

Experience in computers and using word processing and spreadsheets.
- Current drivers licence.
This role may involve weekend work. This is a shift-based role, under the Crown Employees (Conditions of Employment) Public Service Award.
