We are seeking to appoint Investigations Officers, responsible for conducting and leading investigations into potential breaches of conduct within the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW). This role ensures compliance with conduct and governance requirements and provides expert advice on investigative matters.

As an Investigations Officer, you will support the assessment and management of concerns raised by employees and stakeholders, helping to ensure matters are handled fairly, objectively and in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements.

You will gather and evaluate information, identify patterns and emerging risks, and provide insights that support stronger organisational practices. Partnering with colleagues across the Department, you will contribute to initiatives that enhance governance, strengthen safeguards and build confidence in internal processes. The role offers a diverse mix of investigative work, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and continuous improvement activities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems and influencing positive organisational outcomes.

You are an experienced investigations or integrity professional who combines sound judgement, strong analytical skills and a commitment to ethical decision-making. You have experience conducting and managing formal investigations, including gathering and assessing evidence, analysing complex information, and preparing clear, well-reasoned findings and recommendations.

You understand the operating environment of government and are confident navigating public sector legislation, policies and governance frameworks. You can build productive relationships with stakeholders, communicate effectively on sensitive matters, and maintain professionalism when handling highly confidential information.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Demonstrated experience conducting formal investigations, including evidence collection, analysis and report writing.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues, trends and risks, and provide practical recommendations.
• Knowledge of government operations, public sector governance and accountability frameworks.
• An understanding of NSW public sector legislation, including the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2022 (NSW).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build trust.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
• A commitment to integrity, fairness and continuous improvement.
