The Development Coordination Authority (DCA) has been established as part of the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure as the authoritative NSW Government source of technical input across the planning system. The Authority brings together a deep, multi-disciplinary capability inside the planning department specialists in natural hazards, environment, heritage, water, transport and other disciplines and delivers it to decision makers to help shape development outcomes across NSW.
Joining the DCA presents a unique opportunity to help build and embed a new model for delivering technical input into the planning system, working alongside DCA's specialists to provide coordinated expert advice and decisions that shape housing, infrastructure and sustainable communities across the State.
You’ll design and run the data systems that sit behind how the DCA understands its performance and impact. From building robust pipelines and databases to automating dashboards and reports, your work turns complex, messy data into clear insights senior leaders rely on to make informed planning decisions.
Working in a growing authority, you’ll tackle challenges like integrating data from multiple agencies, lifting data quality, and keeping pace with evolving reporting needs. Along the way, you’ll provide technical leadership, solve complex analytical problems, and ensure data is secure, trusted, and ready to support better outcomes for NSW communities.

Senior Data Analyst
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Demonstrated experience in data analysis, database management and business intelligence in a government or complex organisational context.
- →Strong technical skills in data collection, quality assurance and visualisation platforms.
- →Experience in designing and implementing data governance frameworks and quality assurance processes.
- →Proficient in PowerBI and Microsoft Excel at an advanced level
- →Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, applying analytical thinking to adapt solutions within evolving and ambiguous environments.
- →Proven capability to work autonomously, exercising sound judgement, initiative, and accountability to deliver high‑quality results
- →Highly developed communication and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly articulate complex data insights, recommendations, and technical concepts to diverse audiences.
