  • Play a key leadership role in shaping the planning, performance and governance systems that support the delivery of biodiversity conservation programs and help protect NSW's unique environment for future generations.
  • Senior Project Officer Program Support (Environment Officer Class 9)
  • Temporary (up to 30 June 2029) full-time opportunity (with the possibility for ongoing or further extension, dependent on future funding)
  • Located in Parramatta – 4 Parramatta Square
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $128,052 to $142,649 p.a. + super

 

About the Role

The Conservation Programs, Heritage and Regulation Group is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Project Officer Program Support to provide strategic program support to enable the effective planning, governance, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of the Biodiversity Conservation Program, ensuring informed decision-making, strong program oversight and the achievement of strategic outcomes in line with organisational priorities, policies and legislative requirements.

 

As a Senior Project Officer, you will be responsible for leading program scheduling, risks and issues review and program reporting and supporting the delivery of program governance processes. The ideal candidate will be highly organised and able to deliver in short timeframes and will have a good knowledge of the Biodiversity Conservation Program.

 

  • Sound demonstrated knowledge of the operational and strategic requirements for the successful delivery of ecosystems and threatened species programs in the context of current policy and legislative frameworks.
  • Knowledge of and experience in evaluation of strategic and/or complex conservation programs.

  • A degree in science or in a relevant natural resource discipline and/or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience.

DCCEEW conserves and protects the state’s natural environment. It manages the NSW national park estate, including its rich and diverse biodiversity and Aboriginal cultural heritage for future generations.

DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state, to support the environment, communities and industry.
