  • Team Leader, Ecosystems and Threatened Species (Environment Officer Class 11)
  • Ongoing full-time opportunity 
  • Located in Coffs Harbour
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $144,018 to $158,718 + super

 

Our Ecosystems and Threatened Species team is currently seeking to appoint a Team Leader, Ecosystems and Threatened Species (EaTS). In this role, you will lead the development and execution of programs and projects that drive diverse and strategic environmental policy initiatives across NSW, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks, stakeholder priorities, and sustainability objectives.

 

To be successful, you will bring strong program and project leadership experience in environmental, ecological or threatened species settings, with the ability to operate confidently in complex, politically and community-sensitive environments. You will demonstrate sound judgement, initiative and resilience, and be able to build productive partnerships with diverse stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, including the ability to translate technical information into clear advice and produce high-quality briefs and reports within tight timeframes. Ability and experience in budget management is also essential. 

  • Demonstrated project/program management skills and experience along with strong organisational skills to plan, manage and deliver multiple projects on time and within resources
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of financial, governance and risk management standards and practices associated with project management.

DCCEEW conserves and protects the state’s natural environment. It manages the NSW national park estate, including its rich and diverse biodiversity and Aboriginal cultural heritage for future generations.

 

DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state, to support the environment, communities and industry.
