Job Summary
The Production Employee – Insulated Glass (IG) Line supports the manufacturing of sealed glass units used in windows and doors. This entry-level role focuses on assisting with glass handling, assembly, sealing, and general production tasks while following safety and quality standards. The Production Employee works as part of a team to meet daily production targets in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Material Handling & Workflow
- Move, stage, and organize glass units, spacers, and materials along the production line.
- Keep workstations stocked and support smooth production flow between stations.
Production Support (Assembly & Sealing)
- Assist with assembling insulated glass units, including placing spacers and preparing glass.
- Support sealing and finishing processes following standard procedures.
- Operate basic equipment and tools as trained.
Quality Checks & Finishing
- Perform basic visual checks for defects such as scratches, debris, or misalignment.
- Clean glass units and ensure finished products meet basic quality standards.
Safety & Teamwork
- Follow all safety procedures, especially when handling glass, and wear required PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work with team members to meet daily production goals and communicate any issues.
Requirements
- Previous manufacturing or production experience is an asset but not required.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Basic comfort using hand tools.
- Attention to detail and reliability.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada as sponsorship is not available for this position.
