Job Description
About the Dalhousie Student Union (DSU): The DSU represents the collective voice of over 18,000 students in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The DSU advocates for student rights, builds community on campus through events, supports over 300 societies, and provides focused services to foster a supportive and positive student experience.
Overview:
As a member of the DSU T-Room Team, you will be employed in the T-Room to serve Dalhousie University/Community students, faculty, alumni and guests. This position is open to Dalhousie University students only.
Responsibilities:
- Checking I.D.s and bags
- Acting as security for T-Room and following standard operating procedures
- Preparing and Serving beverages
- Cash handling
- Reconciling inventory
- Clean up
- Bartending at special events within various buildings on Sexton campus as a part of the DSU Bar Services function team.
Qualifications:
- Must be a team player, customer service focused, and possess an attention for detail.
- Previous experience along with a provincially recognized smart serve certification would be considered an asset.
- Must be a Dalhousie Student currently enrolled
- Must be 19 years of age or older.
The DSU is the largest employer of students on campus and does its utmost to work around your scholastic schedules. These positions pay $17.78 per hour + gratuities.
Term: Sept 1 2026 - April 10th 2027
