DZ Driver - Boom Truck/Stone Slinger/Concrete Pump

Vars Concrete is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Boom Truck Operator to join our team in Vars, Ontario. This role involves operating boom trucks for the delivery and placement of construction materials and may also include operating a stone slinger and/or concrete pump truck depending on project requirements and experience.

The ideal candidate has experience working in the construction or concrete industry, demonstrates strong equipment operation skills, and is committed to safe and efficient job site practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate boom trucks to safely transport and deliver construction materials to residential, commercial, and industrial job sites
• Perform material placement using hydraulic boom systems
• Operate stone slinger and/or concrete pump truck equipment when required
• Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily equipment inspections
• Maintain accurate delivery and inspection records
• Ensure loads are properly secured and transported safely
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and site supervisors
• Follow all Ministry of Transportation regulations and company safety policies
• Assist with equipment cleaning, maintenance, and minor troubleshooting
• Work safely around construction crews, overhead hazards, and varying site conditions
• Provide professional customer service on all deliveries

Qualifications

• Valid AZ or DZ driver’s license with clean abstract
• Experience operating boom trucks required
• Experience operating stone slinger and/or concrete pump truck equipment considered a strong asset
  
• Ability to read delivery tickets and follow site instructions
• Strong understanding of safe lifting, load securement, and equipment operation
  

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs when required
• Comfortable climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods
