Product Engineer — GovDash

Compensation: $190,000 – $250,000 base + competitive equity

GovDash is building the AI operating system for government contracting. The platform helps businesses win and deliver government contracts through a secure, workflow-driven system spanning the full contracting lifecycle — from opportunity discovery and capture through proposal execution, award, and post-award operations. In 2025 alone, GovDash customers won more than $5 billion in government contracts. The company has raised $42 million and the team includes engineers from Google, Lockheed Martin, and CACI alongside veteran proposal managers and capture leaders.

This is a full-stack product engineering role with end-to-end ownership across frontend and backend systems. Engineers work directly with customers to understand problems, ship production code frequently, and set technical direction within their product areas. The engineering organization operates without product managers — giving engineers significant autonomy and ownership over customer outcomes.

• Design, build, and ship full-stack product features across frontend and backend systems
• Engage directly with customers to understand workflows and gather feedback
• Set technical direction and engineering patterns within your product area
• Build intuitive user interfaces and APIs that support AI-powered workflows
• Improve platform reliability, scalability, and performance as the company grows

• 2–6 years of professional software engineering experience in startup or fast-paced environments
• Strong full-stack proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Next.js — TypeScript is non-negotiable
• Ability to take ambiguous customer problems and independently scope solutions
• Strong startup experience — ideally founding, Seed, Series A, or Series B environments
• NY-based and available for in-person work
• U.S. person eligible to legally handle ITAR and federal government data

• Computer engineering background or formal engineering education
• Significant GitHub contribution history demonstrating consistent shipping velocity
• Former founder or founding engineer at a Seed, Series A, or Series B startup
• Experience building AI-powered or LLM-enabled product features
• Experience with government contracting or public-sector software

Strong signals include exceptional GitHub activity, experience building AI-powered or LLM-enabled products, government contracting or public-sector software experience, former founder or founding engineer background, and demonstrated ownership with customer-centric product development.

• Candidates with three or more years at a single large enterprise without startup experience
• Those without TypeScript experience
