Job Requirements

Please\r\nattach a resume with your online application or use the resume tab in DEL to\r\nprovide a detailed description of how your education, training and/or\r\nexperience meets each job requirement including employer,\r\nexperience/responsibilities and dates (month/year) of employment/training.\r\nApplicants must have education,\r\ntraining, and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following\r\nareas:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Possession\r\n of a current Delaware Veterinary Technician license issued by the Delaware\r\n Veterinary Board.\r\n Ability\r\n to obtain and maintain required HISA/HIWU registration.\r\n At\r\n least two (2) years of experience working with equines, including\r\n handling, restraint, and sample collection.\r\n Knowledge\r\n of safe handling procedures for horses and standard veterinary practices\r\n for equine care.\r\n Knowledge\r\n of handling administrative tasks including recordkeeping, inventory\r\n management, and data entry.\r\n Excellent\r\n interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating professionalism,\r\n ethical conduct, and integrity.\r\n\r\n

Additional Posting Information

This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.\r\n\r\n\r\nMust have availability to work race days (Wednesday–Saturday) and occasional Sundays for special events during the\r\nracing season (May through mid-October).\r\n\r\n\r\nMust have the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and to perform duties that may require physical exertion, including\r\nlifting and restraining animals.\r\n\r\n

Conditions of Hire

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The State of Delaware Executive Branch participates in the Federal E-Verify system where the State will provide the federal government with each new hires Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S. For more information refer to our job seeker resources.\r\nAs a condition of hire, applicants must agree to obtaining\r\nand maintaining Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority (HISA) / Horseracing\r\nIntegrity & Welfare Unit (HIWU) registration.\r\n\r\nAll new hires are required to report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation (SNEO) on their first day of employment. Sessions are held at designated locations in Kent or New Castle County.\r\n
