Essential Functions
The Deputy Attorneys General in this Unit are responsible for compiling and producing discovery, drafting motions and briefs, performing research, extending and negotiating plea agreements, and taking matters to trial.� This is a Unit with a high volume of cases and several court calendars scheduled per week.��\r\n\r\n\r\nThe current position we are seeking to fill is primarily responsible for prosecuting juvenile delinquency and truancy cases with the unique opportunity to occasionally handle adult domestic violence cases, including taking any or all of these types of cases to trial.\r\n\r\n\r\n
Job Requirements
A qualified candidate’s strengths will\r\ninclude knowledge of criminal law and procedure, the ability to evaluate\r\ncriminal cases, determine resolutions, and anticipate legal issues with the\r\nability to research accurately and effectively.� Candidates must have the\r\nability to learn and apply the relevant laws and court rules.\r\nCandidates must also have or be able to develop a good working relationship\r\nwith other Deputy Attorneys General, support staff and Court personnel.\r\nMembership in Delaware Bar required. \r\n
