Summary Statement
The Delaware Department of Justice is looking for a highly motivated and committed Deputy Attorney General to join the Environmental Unit in New Castle County or in Kent County.�\r\n\r\n\r\nThis Unit offers advice on a full range of legal issues to Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), which includes the following Divisions: Waste & Hazardous Substances; Fish & Wildlife; Parks & Recreation; Watershed Stewardship; Water; Climate, Coastal & Energy; and the Environmental Crimes Unit.� Representation includes enforcement of environmental laws and permit violations through administrative actions and litigation.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Essential Functions
This Deputy Attorney General\r\nworks within the Department of Justice’s Environmental Unit and serves as one\r\nof the DAGs assigned to represent the Department of Natural Resources and\r\nEnvironmental Control (DNREC). This DAG will: enforce environmental laws and\r\npermit violations through administrative actions and litigation; defend DNREC\r\nbefore administrative boards and Delaware Courts; review documents, permits and\r\ncontracts; review legislation and regulations; and advise in areas such as\r\nhuman relations and risk management. \r\n
Job Requirements
Membership in the Delaware Bar is required as a condition of continued employment.�\r\n\r\n\r\nApplicants who are not currently admitted may be considered if they possess relevant experience, including experience in litigation and administrative law (including regulatory practice) and a background in natural resources law and environmental issues. Such applicants must be eligible for limited admission under Delaware Supreme Court Rule 55 and must register for and sit for the next available Delaware Bar Examination. \r\n
