The Delaware Department of Labor is seeking a motivated intern to gain hands-on experience in workforce development and public service. This position offers the opportunity to develop office, customer service, and administrative skills while assisting clients with Delaware JobLink registration, workforce programs, and other employment-related services.\r\n

Summary Statement

The Delaware Department of Labor is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to gain hands-on experience in workforce development and public service. This internship provides an opportunity to learn office operations, customer service, and program administration while supporting initiatives that help Delaware residents access employment and career resources.\r\nThe selected intern will develop proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, assist with administrative and clerical duties, attend meetings and record minutes, and support the processing of APEX applications. The intern will also assist clients with pardon and expungement paperwork, provide guidance on Delaware JobLink (DJL) registration, and deliver exceptional customer service to individuals seeking workforce services.\r\nThrough job shadowing and direct involvement in daily operations, the intern will gain valuable insight into the Department of Labor's mission, workforce programs, and the services provided to Delaware job seekers and employers.\r\nThis opportunity is ideal for students who are organized, self-motivated, possess strong communication skills, pay close attention to detail, and are interested in gaining practical experience in government, workforce development, human services, public administration, or related fields.\r\n

Essential Functions

1. Data Entry & Database Management\r\nInterns will assist with organizing and maintaining accurate\r\nclient and case data by:\r\n\r\n Transferring\r\n written or case notes into numerical/database format\r\n Reviewing\r\n and manually confirming that all information entered is accurate and\r\n complete\r\n Ensuring\r\n all pertinent client and case details are properly documented\r\n\r\n2. Pardon Application Preparation\r\nInterns will support the pardon application process by\r\nassisting with:\r\n\r\n Entering\r\n pardon-related data compiled by Andrew and Dominique into PDF pardon\r\n applications\r\n Reviewing\r\n and organizing supporting materials, including:\r\n \r\n Client\r\n SBI reports\r\n Court\r\n records\r\n Client\r\n data and case narratives\r\n \r\n Helping\r\n ensure applications are complete and prepared for timely submission\r\n\r\n3. DJL Enrollment Support\r\nInterns will provide assistance with enrolling new APEX\r\nclients into DJL by:\r\n\r\n Supporting\r\n new client enrollments and account setup\r\n Providing\r\n direct, in-person support to clients when needed\r\n Assisting\r\n clients through the enrollment process to improve successful completion\r\n rates\r\n\r\n4. DJL Documentation Uploads\r\nInterns may assist with administrative tracking tasks by:\r\n\r\n Uploading\r\n worksheets and supporting documents into DJL\r\n Maintaining\r\n organized digital records for improved case tracking and management\r\n Assisting\r\n with document organization and file maintenance\r\n\r\n5. Case Management Follow-Up Calls\r\nBecause pardon and expungement applications are\r\ntime-sensitive, interns will help monitor case progress by:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Conducting\r\n follow-up calls with clients regarding outstanding documentation or next\r\n steps\r\n Tracking\r\n client progress throughout each pardon phase\r\n Assisting\r\n with deadline management to ensure applications are submitted within\r\n required timelines\r\n Helping\r\n maintain communication between clients and case managers\r\n\r\n
