Summary Statement

\r\nThe Office of Engineering is responsible for permitting, compliance, and enforcement of regulated Drinking Water State Revolving Fund activities associated with drinking water infrastructure construction in the State.� An incumbent in this position is responsible for the review and approval of drinking water construction plans for state and federal projects for compliance with appropriate authorities and providing guidance to the Fund’s delegated agencies; engineers; other state, federal, or local entities; and public and private organizations or individuals.\r\n\r\n

Essential Functions

Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.\r\n\r\n Drafts, develops and modifies engineering designs, plans and specifications. \r\n \r\n Reviews permit applications, blueprints and/or designs prepared by others to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations. \r\n \r\n Applies the principles and theories of science and mathematics to research and develop solutions to technical problems. \r\n \r\n Plans and conducts field studies, surveys, research and development projects, inspections and/or investigations to collect data and ensure conformance to state/federal laws and regulations. \r\n \r\n Tests or evaluates materials, equipment, systems and facilities. \r\n \r\n Plans and coordinates engineering projects.\r\n \r\n Reviews, analyzes and reports on the status of projects and/or regulatory conformance.\r\n \r\n Develops cost estimates for project time and materials.\r\n \r\n Provides technical guidance and training to technical staff. \r\n\r\n

Job Requirement Series

\r\n\r\nJOB REQUIREMENTS for Engineer I\r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:�\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Possession of a Bachelors degree�in Civil or Environmental Engineering or official notice of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination (in the assigned engineering discipline) administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nJOB REQUIREMENTS for Engineer II \r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:\r\n1. Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher�in Civil or Environmental Engineering�OR official notice of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination�in Civil or Environmental Engineering�administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).\r\n\r\n\r\n2. At least one year experience�in Civil or Environmental Engineering OR�possession of a�Masters degree or higher�in Civil or Environmental Engineering.\r\n\r\n\r\nJOB REQUIREMENTS for Engineer III\r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:\r\n1.�Possession of a Bachelors Degree or higher�in Civil or Environmental Engineering OR official notice of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination�in Civil or Environmental Engineering administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).\r\n2. At least four years experience�in Civil or Environmental Engineering.\r\n3. Knowledge of engineering project management which includes planning, scheduling, staffing, coordinating, controlling, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the status of engineering projects.\r\n\r\n
