Summary Statement
The Delaware Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, is\r\ncurrently seeking to hire an Environmental Program Administrator. This position\r\nreports to the Chief of the Forest Service and is responsible for the\r\nimplementation of Delawares’ CORE Forestry programs. This position oversees and\r\nadministers federal and state allocations, managing budgets and activities that\r\nsupport the Forest Service’s mission to Conserve, Protect, and Enhance. This\r\nposition represents Delaware at regional and national meetings and works to\r\nimplement programming based on outlined policies and procedures. Implement\r\nstrategies that the Chief identifies as priorities and ensure that CORE\r\nprogramming aligns with them.\r\n
Essential Functions

Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.\r\n\r\n Plans, coordinates and oversees program implementation.\r\n Provides technical direction and oversight for subordinates.\r\n Recommends and drafts laws, rules and regulations applicable to assigned program areas.\r\n Drafts grant applications and budget proposals; may participate in other specialized fiscal activities.\r\n Manages staff personnel matters such as training, performance evaluation, hiring interviews, and making hiring recommendations.\r\n Plans, coordinates and conducts meetings and workshops with other agencies and the private sector. \r\n\r\n\r\n
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Environmental Program Administrator \r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:\r\n\r\n Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher in Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field. \r\n Three years experience in environmental/natural resources program administration which includes overseeing and directing the development, implementation and evaluation of environmental/natural resource programs and services; establishes program objectives; plan short and long range program goals; develop and implement program policies and procedures and ensures compliance and funding requirements. Provides advice to other agency organizational units through consultation. \r\n Three years experience in analyzing and evaluating data. \r\n Three years experience in interpreting environmental laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures. \r\n Six months experience in operations management which includes planning, directing, coordinating, controlling and evaluating operations typically through subordinate supervisors. \r\n\r\n
