Casual Kitchen Porter

The Kitchen Porter supports the smooth operation of the Burwood Pantry kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, washing dishes and equipment, and assisting with basic prep and kitchen tasks. You will help ensure hygiene standards are met and provide essential support to chefs and kitchen team during busy service periods.

• Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
• Must possess reliability, self-motivation, organizational skills, and excel as a team player
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• The role requires the incumbent to apply and maintain a Working With Children Check

• →Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment
• →Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including benches, floors, cool rooms, and storage areas
• →Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards at all times
• →Assist with basic food preparation (e.g. peeling, chopping, portioning)
• →Receive, check, and correctly store deliveries in line with stock rotation (FIFO)
• →Remove and dispose of waste, recycling, and compost in accordance with procedures
• →Replenish cleaning supplies and notify management of stock shortages
• →Help set up and pack down kitchen and catering equipment for events
• →Follow workplace health and safety guidelines, including safe handling of chemicals and equipment
