  • $110,171 - $121,309 (HEW 7) + 17% Superannuation

As trusted advisors and collaborative partners, the Finance and Assurance function provides a range of services to all parts of the university to drive financial sustainability and provide expert advice and compliance assurance to support delivery of the University Strategy and operational activities.

Our Assurance capability, consisting of Legal Services, Compliance, Contract Governance and Risk develops the University’s assurance frameworks and policies, and provides key expertise that underpins compliance and corporate governance and Deakin's commitment to high standards of integrity.

The Coordinator, Foreign Engagement Compliance coordinates the delivery of the University’s foreign engagement compliance functions through operational and advisory activities. The role undertakes due diligence assessments, supports risk management processes, and provides advice and training to staff on foreign engagement obligations.

  • Coordinate the University’s foreign engagement compliance activities and provide operational and advisory support.
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessments on foreign entities, partners, funding sources, and engagements.
  • Advise staff on foreign engagement risks and obligations, including sanctions, export controls, foreign interference and influence.
  • Prepare reports, briefings and assessments to support compliance decisions and risk management.
  • Improve and maintain compliance processes, training, systems and records, while supporting monitoring, audits and regulatory reporting.
  • A relevant degree and/or substantial professional experience in technical or administrative environments.
  • Proven experience delivering and coordinating complex work, with the ability to operate independently.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting policies, regulations, and requirements.
  • Experience in compliance, risk, governance, or regulatory functions within complex environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including preparing reports, briefings, and assessments to support decision-making.
