Lecturer in Occupational Therapy

• Based at our Geelong, Waterfront Campus and flexible working arrangements
• Full-time and Continuing in the School of Health and Social Development
• Level B $122,391 - $144,759 + 17% Superannuation

The Faculty of Health is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching, learning, creativity, social development, and groundbreaking research and discovery. We work closely with industry partners and government bodies to translate discoveries into real-word impact. This role will specifically be working within the School of Health and Social Development.

This Lecturer position plays a key role in delivering high‑quality teaching, contributing to curriculum development and building an emerging research profile within Deakin’s accredited occupational therapy programs. You’ll design engaging learning experiences, support student success, participate in academic service, and strengthen industry and community partnerships. Operating with growing independence, you will integrate teaching, research and engagement to advance the discipline and contribute to Deakin’s reputation for excellence.  

• Deliver high‑quality, engaging teaching across occupational therapy units
• Design and develop curriculum, learning resources and assessments aligned to discipline standards
• Build an emerging research profile through publications, projects and funding applications
• Contribute to academic service, program delivery and industry and community engagement
• Support student success, inclusion and integrity while contributing to a collaborative academic culture

• A PhD (or equivalent experience) and current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
• At least three years of professional occupational therapy practice with strong discipline knowledge
• Demonstrated capability in delivering high‑quality teaching and contributing to curriculum design
• An emerging track record of research, publications or scholarly outputs
• Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, including understanding of First Nations perspectives
