The Faculty of Health is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching, learning, creativity, social development, and groundbreaking research and discovery. We work closely with industry partners and government bodies to translate discoveries into real-word impact. This role will specifically be working within the School of Health and Social Development.

The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer contributes to teaching, research and service within the discipline of Occupational Therapy. The role involves delivering high-quality teaching, developing curriculum, and undertaking impactful research aligned to University priorities.

At Level B, the role focuses on developing capability across teaching, research and academic service, operating with increasing independence to support student outcomes and scholarly contribution.

At Level C, the role provides leadership across teaching, research and service, influencing curriculum innovation, research performance and academic practice, and contributing to strategic priorities with a higher degree of autonomy.

• Design and deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences, including the development of curriculum, learning materials and assessments aligned with occupational therapy standards
• Assess student work and provide timely, constructive feedback to support learning outcomes and student success
• Continuously improve teaching practice through reflection, student feedback, and innovative approaches to learning and teaching
• Undertake independent research and contribute to scholarly outputs, including publications and collaborative research projects
• Engage with industry, community and professional stakeholders to support teaching, research and the broader discipline

• PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
• Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
• At least three years’ experience in occupational therapy practice
• Demonstrated ability to deliver teaching and contribute to curriculum development Emerging track record of research or scholarly outputs
• Knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and contemporary issues related to First Nations Peoples

• Lead curriculum design and innovation, delivering high-quality teaching and supervision using contemporary, evidence-based educational practices
• Evaluate teaching effectiveness and implement improvements based on evidence and feedback
• Produce high-quality research outputs and lead research initiatives, including securing external funding and contributing to research strategy
• Build and strengthen partnerships with industry, community and academic stakeholders to enhance teaching, research and discipline impact
• Provide leadership within academic teams, mentoring early career academics and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture
• Contribute to governance, service and academic decision-making, supporting continuous improvement, inclusion and the strategic direction of the discipline

• PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
• Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
• At least three years’ experience in occupational therapy practice
• Demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, research and service
• Evidence of research impact and contribution to the discipline, alongside experience in curriculum development and innovation
• Knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and contemporary issues related to First Nations Peoples
