About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Customer Success- Sr. Debt Specialist to join our growing team in Charlotte, NC. This critical role supports our most complex Debt implementations, offering strategic advisement to our customers and the implementation team. You will be essential in ensuring our local government, higher education, and healthcare customers successfully adopt and maximize the value of the DebtBook platform for their complex financial reporting needs.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert and advisor on complex debt implementations.
  • Join implementation scoping calls to understand data complexity and customer preferences for how their data should be structured.
  • Work with Customer Success Managers and Associates on how to structure customer data, translating complex debt management concepts into our application.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success on implementation project plans to ensure that complexity is fully accounted for and communicated and that agreed timelines are appropriate for the project.
  • Provide guidance to the implementation team on complex data reconciliation scenarios.
  • Collaborate with the data team on questions, limitations, and issues they may encounter.
  • Act as a subject matter expert throughout the implementation, joining customer calls as needed throughout the process to explain implementation decisions and system functionality when outside of the standard scope of Customer Success expertise.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in municipal finance, with strong understanding of different types of debt issuances. 
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills with an uncompromising attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, V-Lookups, complex formulas) for managing and manipulating customer financial data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret complex financial workflows.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting to senior finance professionals.
  • A growth-oriented mindset and a comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
  • Bonus: Experience with CRM (e.g., Salesforce) or Customer Success software (e.g., Gainsight).
