About the Role
~1 min readWe are looking for a Product Owner to join our Product Department and take a key role in shaping our voyage optimisation solutions. At DeepSea, Product Owners operate at the intersection of customers, engineering, and data-driven systems. You will work on products that directly impact vessel performance, operational efficiency, and decision-making for shipping companies worldwide.
In this role, you will own and prioritise the product backlog, translating complex customer needs, operational constraints, and technical realities into clear, actionable product requirements. You will collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions across onboard systems, cloud platforms, and AI-driven models.
Responsibilities
~1 min readWork closely with customers and internal stakeholders to understand real-world operational challenges and translate them into product opportunities.
Balance customer value, technical feasibility, and delivery impact when shaping solutions.
Collaborate with engineering teams to define and deliver solutions across onboard systems, cloud infrastructure, and integrations.
Own and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
Break down complex initiatives into clear, structured deliverables for cross-functional teams.
Define detailed product specifications, including expected behaviours and outcomes
Continuously gather and incorporate user feedback to improve product performance and usability.
Review delivered features to ensure theymeet expectations inquality,reliability and user experience.
Maintain clear product documentation, including specifications, internal guides, and release notes.
Communicate roadmap, priorities, and progress clearly across the organisation and the customers.
At least 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, working on complex products or systems.
Experience in B2B products with operational/mission-critical workflows.
Strong experience working directly with customers (e.g. demos, requirement gathering, handling feedback).
Experience working on products with ambiguity or evolving requirements.
Strong ability to work effectively across different teams, fostering strong collaboration and maintaining alignment between stakeholders, engineering, and business functions.
Experience working in deep-tech, data-intensive, or AI model-driven environments.
An educational background in engineering, computer science, data analysis,or a related field.
Can translate complex problems into clear and structured requirements.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
