The Electro-Mechanical Systems Technician IV is the highest-level field technician on the engineering and maintenance and team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electrical and mechanical systems throughout the facility. The Tech IV serves as a technical resource for less experienced team members and works closely with engineers and operations leadership to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability
Lead troubleshooting and repair of complex electrical faults across production equipment, power distribution systems, motor controls, and automated systems
Perform planned and corrective maintenance on high and low voltage electrical systems, PLCs, VFDs, servo drives, and instrumentation
Read, interpret, and redline electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and ladder logic programs
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions
Ensure all work complies with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and internal safety standards, including LOTO procedures and arc flash requirements
Lead and participate in equipment installations, startups, and commissioning activities
Develop, review, and update SOPs, PM procedures, and as-built documentation
Mentor and provide technical guidance to Technicians I–III
Collaborate with engineers during capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvements
Serve as the lead technician on multi-day or multi-phase projects
Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical equipment failures as neede
7+ years of experience as a Maintenance Tech III, looking to step into a Tech IV role.
Experience in a high-speed manufacturing or process industry environment
Strong working knowledge of PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell preferred), HMIs, and VFD
Advanced proficiency with electrical test equipment (multimeters, meggars, oscilloscopes, power quality analyzers, thermal imaging)
Strong skills in reading blueprints & schematics for troubleshooting complex systems.
Experience working with boilers, air compressors, and industrial production equipment.
Thorough understanding of NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA electrical safety standard
A leadership mindset and ability to drive special projects with minimal supervision.
Willingness to travel to other Dempsey locations as part of strategic initiatives.
Manufacturing plant environment; exposure to noise, heat, and industrial equipment
Required to wear appropriate PPE at all times, including arc flash PPE when applicable
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights
May require occasional off-shift, weekend, or on-call work

· Minimum Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
