We are seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to serve as our next Assistant Director for Lending & Homeownership. This role oversees DevNW’s homeownership initiatives, including Community Land Trust (CLT) sales, down payment assistance programs, mortgage lending partnerships, affordability analysis, and home repair lending programs.

The Assistant Director works across multiple teams and community partnerships to expand access to affordable homeownership opportunities for historically marginalized communities while ensuring strong program operations, compliance, and sustainable funding.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead DevNW’s homeownership and lending programs, including down payment assistance, Community Land Trust (CLT) initiatives, mortgage lending partnerships, silent second loans, home repair lending, and affordability analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, funder, and organizational requirements related to lending, servicing, and housing programs.
  • Use program data, outcomes, and market analysis to evaluate impact, improve services, and support strategic planning.
  • Supervise and support program staff, including coaching, performance management, professional development, and hiring.
  • Foster strong cross-department collaboration to create a seamless client experience across programs and services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with funders, lenders, public agencies, and community partners.
  • Manage program budgets, grants, contracts, and reporting requirements in partnership with finance and development teams.
  • Represent DevNW in community partnerships, coalitions, and affordable housing initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Technical Expertise

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in affordable housing, mortgage lending, community development finance, homeownership programs, Community Land Trusts, real estate development, or related fields.
    • Equivalent combinations of education and experience welcomed
  • Experience managing complex budgets, grants, contracts, and multiple funding sources.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with lending, housing, regulatory, and funder requirements.
  • Current Oregon Mortgage Loan Originator license and NMLS SAFE Act compliance required.
  • Knowledge of Community Land Trust (CLT) homeownership models, including ground leases, CCRs, and affordable homeownership transactions.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, project management, and operational problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across teams, funders, agencies, and community partners.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and reducing systemic barriers to housing and wealth-building.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Schedule & Working Conditions

  • Flexible scheduling options available, including 5x8 or 4x10 schedules.
  • Travel up to 25% within Oregon.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle required.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
